Yashovardhan Sharma

Yashovardhan Sharma is a Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Doctoral Training in Cybersecurity within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. His research currently revolves around the intersection of malware detection, machine learning, and network security; based on which he designs systems to better profile and leverage adversarial behaviour for cyber defence. In a previous avatar, he received an MPhil in Advanced Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIIT-Delhi. His previous research has included investigating the safety and security of avionic systems, diving into the world of cybercrime and DDoS attacks, designing secure systems with novel cryptographic primitives, and creating a cost-effective method for diagnosing hard-to-detect sleep disorders using off-the-shelf sensors and a mobile phone. Outside the world of privacy and security, he ardently supports and takes part in work to address climate change and promote universal education, and frequently uses his technological skills to aid these tasks.

Nipun Batra

Nipun Batra

Nipun Batra is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at IIT Gandhinagar. He previously completed his postdoc from University of Virginia. He completed his PhD. from IIIT Delhi where he was a TCS PhD fellow. His group broadly works on machine learning/AI/sensors/IoT for computational sustainability problems like smart buildings and air quality. His work has been awarded several awards, including, the best PhD presentation at ACM Sensys, best demo at ACM Buildsys, and a best video nominee at ACM KDD. He is working with his team towards a Jupyter book on code first understanding machine learning.

Mukul Chhabra

Mukul is a IIITD alumnus who completed Electronics engineering from the Institute in 2020. He is the Founder & CEO at ScrapUncle- An On Demand Recycling Platform. He was featured in the second season of Shark Tank India and received funding from the CEO of CarDekho, Amit Jain. Before ScrapUncle, Mukul co-founded DroneMed (a drone startup) at the age of 19. He built a fully autonomous VTOL UAV for the delivery of emergency supplies..

Vahini Ummalaneni

Vahini is a Systems Engineer with a passion for innovation and technology. After a BTech degree from IIITD, she went on to pursue a Master's degree from The Ohio State University. With a background in ECE and familiarity across other Engineering domains, she spent the last three years working in the MedTech field, particularly as a Senior Systems Engineer at Johnson & Johnson in California, working on their flexible robotic system. Along with her research experience and projects, she also participated in and organized events outside of academics that increased her ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Intrigued by the rapidly growing Medical Technology industry and a desire to make a positive impact on the industry, she joined TavLab to continually seek out new opportunities to innovate and develop solutions that can improve health outcomes..
