When I came to IIITD, I was an under-confident girl, with very less exposure. One of the biggest thing that IIITD has given me is the perfect combination of freedom and security, which I could not before in any of the institute. For me, IIIT Delhi has been nothing short of a roller coaster, filled with moments that have shaped not only my intellect but also my resilience. It’s a place where I learned to juggle multiple responsibilities and manage my emotions through the highs and lows, no matter the situation.

Coming from a small town in Uttar Pradesh and pursuing my B.Tech at a tier-3 college, joining IIIT-D felt like a dream come true. It opened doors to new realms of technology and connected me with some of the most brilliant minds—both students and professors alike. I have grown immensely, thanks to the unwavering support of extremely talented and dedicated professors.

I am especially excited to share that I will soon embark on the next chapter of my journey as a Ph.D. student here. For this, I owe my deepest gratitude to all the professors of IIIT-D for their invaluable guidance, with special thanks to my guide and soon-to-be Ph.D. mentor, Dr. N. Arul Murugan Sir, for believing in me and supporting me at every step.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the constant love and support of my parents and guardians, who have been my pillars of strength throughout. Lastly, my heartfelt thanks to one very special friend who has always stood by my side, encouraging me to keep pushing forward, no matter how tough things got.

Starting my PhD at IIIT Delhi was both exciting and challenging. My research in Data Mining pushed me to grow through setbacks and breakthroughs. Publishing in international journals expanded my network and perspective. Outside of research, I enjoyed participating in sports activities, which helped balance my academic life. As I near graduation, I’m grateful for the skills and friendships I’ve gained, and I look forward to the next chapter in my journey.

My journey at IIIT Delhi has been nothing short of transformative. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I was welcomed into a vibrant community that encouraged curiosity and innovation. The faculty at the Department of Mathematics has always been very supportive and encouraging. The late-night study sessions, collaborative projects, and friendships forged in the heat of deadlines defined my experience here. Overcoming challenges, both academically and personally, taught me resilience and adaptability, shaping me into a more confident individual. I thoroughly enjoyed my hostel stay in the campus and my sports and yoga sessions. The hostel management staff, our yoga instructor Mr. Ajay Saxena, coaches and friends made me feel at a home away from home. As I approach convocation, I am filled with gratitude for the memories and the invaluable lessons that will guide me into the future.

My time at IIITD has been truly unforgettable. I’ve experienced everything from online classes to traditional in-person learning. The first four semesters were conducted online, which made initial interactions a bit challenging, but I managed to overcome that obstacle. In those early days of college, I focused on figuring things out, pushing my limits, and making new friends.

Starting from the fifth semester, classes transitioned back to offline mode, and I discovered just how much more enjoyable in-person college life could be, even as a day scholar. I was thrilled to find a quick route from Harkesh Nagar Okhla metro station to campus. My metro rides took about an hour each way, but I rarely arrived late for class. I often got to campus early, sometimes an hour before morning lectures, enjoying the serene atmosphere. During those quiet moments, I loved capturing the beauty of the campus on my phone.

I noticed that attending classes regularly positively impacted my grades. It became clear that I needed to go the extra mile to excel, so I aimed to add a unique touch to my assignments. I took some fascinating courses in game design and ergonomics, among others. Time flew by, and before I knew it, I was in my eighth semester. This summary barely scratches the surface of my emotions and experiences. What I’ll cherish most are the friendships I formed, the lessons I learned, and the countless stories I gathered along the way.

Although the journey wasn’t easy, I’m grateful for every experience, as each one taught me valuable lessons. I also made valuable friendships that supported me through challenges and made this time even more memorable.

Meeting tight deadlines, working on assignments, and managing multiple projects taught me how to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and handle pressure. These challenges helped me build problem-solving and time-management skills that I know will be valuable in the future. As the upcoming convocation approaches, I am excited and proud to celebrate this milestone. It's a time to look back on all the hard work and look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
