The theme for this year’s Digital Delhi Conclave, which will be hosted for the 5th time at the IIIT-Delhi, emerges from the Sustainable Development Goal of ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’. As in the past, in the latest edition of this conclave invites all stakeholders to engage in public deliberations through panels, hackathons and artistic interventions to think about reforms in institutions that can deliver a more peaceful and just future for all. Our focus on innovation emphasises IIIT-Delhi’s unique strength in developing technology solutions and aims to make governance and delivery of justice more responsive, fair and equitable.

Moreover, the conclave will focus on innovative use of information technology and ideas that can enable younger citizens to be more actively engaged and reform institutions that are fit for the demands of the 21st Century.

As in the past events, DDC V will include a number of exciting events, including:

• » An idea-thon which will showcase pitches from those under-25 to suggest reforms in our institutions
• » A series of artistic workshops which will make students and participants to rethink how technology plays a part in the way we imagine our shared future, and explore how developers can imbibe values of justice
• » A series of expert panels will explore the potential of AI and new technologies for disrupting the way justice is delivered
• » Finally, a special keynote address from a world renowned expert will explore the ‘prospects of peace and justice’ in the 21st Century, exploring in detail the rising threats of conflicts aided by technologies and the way geopolitics, commerce and ideas intersect today to remake international and national governance.

Overall, the conclave promises to go beyond the usual concerns about technology and rethink their role in relation to the institutions and imagine a future where justice is available to all.
