Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) was created as a State University by an Act of Delhi Government (The IIIT-Delhi Act, 2007) empowering it to do research and development and grant degrees. The Institute is academically and administratively autonomous.
The Institute rules, inter alia, provide for registration of Non-degree Visiting students. A Non-degree Visiting Student is a student registered for a degree in a recognized Institute/University in India or abroad who has official permission from that Institute/University to attend classes, to carry out research or to avail himself of laboratory or other academic facilities at IIIT-Delhi for a period of not exceeding six months.
Persons interested for registration as a non-degree visiting student for doing courses/project at IIIT-Delhi should complete the form and send it to the Institute by email at (admin-academic@iiitd.ac.in) or by post at institute address addressed to Registrar, along with official letter of permission from their University/Institute, statement of purpose, letter of recommendation from a qualified expert who knows the applicant well, and photocopies of relevant transcripts. Letter of recommendation should be sent directly by the recommender to the given email address or be in a sealed envelope.
