Dr. Gautam Shroff is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIIT-Delhi. He received his Ph.D. (1990) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Troy, NY, and his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur (1985). He has held leadership roles at TCS Research since 1998, serving as head of the organization from 2017 onward. He previously taught at Caltech (1990-91) and IIT Delhi's Computer Science department (1991-1997). He holds fellowships from both TCS and the Indian National Academy of Engineering. His scholarly output includes over 140 research papers spanning computational mathematics, distributed systems, software engineering, AI, machine learning, and natural language processing. His current research focuses on analogical reasoning, machine-learning applications in finance, and methodologies for enhancing research acceleration.
