2015-2016

  • Automation of attendance system for students – At IIITD we take attendance for B.Tech. 1st & 2nd year students through Biometric machines and share the same with students fortnightly.
  • Review of PDA guidelines for faculty
  • Implementation of Choice Based Credit System for International recognition and good career opportunities
  • Transparency in the Evaluation system – At IIITD we follow continuous evaluation where a faculty asses a student with various evaluation components and the same is being shared with students before the final grade is being finalized. A student and directly approach the faculty member of any course if he/she wants to recheck his/her grade.
  • In our R&D efforts, we remain committed to entrepreneurial advancements and developing technologies that can be transferred for commercial implementation or use by other organizations. This year, 10 new technologies and tools were developed which were transferred to various organisations. Five start-ups based on technologies and tools developed at IIIT-Delhi have emerged so far.
  • IIIT-Delhi has been recognized by SBI and PNB for its education loan scheme. We are the first institute among IIITs to get this privilege. The scheme entitles a student of the Institute to an education loan of up to Rs. 20 Lakh without any collateral.

2016-2017

  • Automation of leave application portal for staff
  • We have also introduced a 3rd UG programme after CSE and ECE, “BTech programme in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (CSAM)”. The program aims to produce graduates with computational skills as well as the ability to use sophisticated mathematical concepts and tools in order to approach problems.
  • Overseas research fellowships for Ph.D. students
  • Involvement with Govt. Schools to impart education to the kids by organizing summer camp programs

2017-2018

  • The Institute has added seats with two new programs. The Institute has started a new, B.Tech. program in ‘ Computer Science and Biosciences’ this year adding 50 seats. This program, imparting knowledge of foundations of Biology and Computer Science as well as training in modeling and analysis of biomedical data, is the key to create personnel who can provide solutions to problems on the interface of Computation and Biology. A new M.Tech. program in Computer Science with the specialization in AI has also been added, adding 20 seats.
  • While the faculty members of the Institute are collaborating with academicians and industries across the world, the Institute has also initiated some formal international collaborations, the most recent being the MOU between Univ at Buffalo and IIIT-Delhi for a dual/joint Doctoral Degree program .
  • The Institute is establishing advanced infrastructure for conducting focused research in key areas with a critical mass of faculty and researchers. IIIT-Delhi is delighted to state that we recently inaugurated the Center for Design and New Media supported by TCS – the first of its kind in the country. This center will have research areas like HCI, interaction design, design thinking, gaming, animation, special effects, digital music, etc.

2018-2019

  • IIIT-Delhi has a rich tradition of pursuing excellence and has continually re-invented itself regarding academic programmers and research areas. Taking our legacy ahead, this year we started our two new breakthrough B.Tech. Courses, ‘Computer Science and Design’ and ‘Information Technology and Social Science’
  • The institute has a practice of conducting a weekly seminar where a weekly slot is blocked for the same. With the increase in the size of the institute, It was decided to reserve the 1st Thursday of every month for Institute level seminar where well known speakers will be invited and for remaining Thursday’s department can conduct department level talks.
  • Online repository for capturing minutes of all the major body meetings conducted by the Institute
  • To strengthen the bonds with the alumni, the IIIT-Delhi Alumni Association has been established and have launched the IIIT-Delhi Foundation USA. We also have a functioning Bay Area alumni chapter .
  • Collaboration is the key to growth, and the Institute follows this very consistently. IIIT-Delhi recently has signed an MOU with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), by virtue of which IIIT-Delhi will help strengthen the IT Network infrastructure of DDA.
  • The students of IIIT-Delhi conducted a summer camp for nearby government school children. The camp had over 170 students from 5 government schools, and a team of 30 UG student volunteers from the Institute ran it for over five weeks. The Department of Mathematics also organized a summer camp for school students of classes between 9-12

2019-2020

  • IIIT-Delhi offers seven B.Tech. programs, including five interdisciplinary programs ( B.Tech. Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence added this year), three PG programs with eight specializations, and Doctorate in the allied areas of 6 disciplines .
  • The Institute continues to maintain a clean and green environment and has been ranked 'Fourth' amongst the cleanest Higher Educational Institutions in the country in the category 'Technical Institutions – Universities (Residential)'. The campus incorporates several green-building features and is GRIHA rated, zero-discharge campus with sewage treatment plants, rainwater harvesting, heat pumps, and solar power plant on terraces of all new buildings.
  • The students of IIIT-Delhi conducted a summer camp for nearby government school children.   • Solar Power: The campus has a grid connected 220 kwp solar photovoltaic power plant in collaboration with M/S Green Alpha Power and Hero Future Energies on a long lease of 10 years. This leads to savings in power consumption out of the sanction load of 1.611 MW.
  • Initiative taken through DDA for development of District Park in 140 Acres of DDA Greens
  • BMS/HVAC systems developed within Institute and include Energy Consumption Monitoring or control through dashboard on cloud
  • Medical insurance for students
  • Formation of Student welfare fund. This fund was created to support needy students for various purposes.
  • The institute developed an online course repository i.e. Tech Tree, where students can see the course descriptions of all the courses on offer in the institute. The repository also gives them a view about which courses to pursue and in what order.
